Meet the Coaches

Frank J. Luca - Regional Director

Frank has been involved with basketball for 32 years as both a player and a coach. Since graduating from the University of Rhode Island Frank has coached basketball to boys and girls ages 6 through the high school and college level. As a coach in the Catholic Youth Organization Frank attained two State Titles in the Intermediate division and one in the Grammer division. After coaching for three years at LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI, Frank was an assistant men's basketball coach for Tom Sienkiewicz at Roger Williams University. He then coached his sons in the town recreation leagues, where he is currently still coaching and is the Vice President of the Smithfield Youth Basketball Association.

From 2001-2005 Frank was the Head Junior Varsity boy's coach and Assistant Varsity coach at Scituate High School in Scituate, RI where the boy's varsity team won the 2005 Div. 3 RI State Championship. Frank is currently a boy's assistant coach at Smithfield High School.

Frank has coached at, and organized several summer basketball camps. Frank is active in volunteering his time in his community with the Catholic Youth Organization, American Cancer Society, and in alumni events at La Salle Academy.

Frank's coaching experience, strong business background, and his ability to reach out and work within the community is an asset to the One on One Basketball Program in Rhode Island.

 Co-Camp Director Mel Moore: Assistant Regional Director and Trainer for One on One Basketball, is a former CCRI and Roger Williams player. Mel is also the Executive Director of Revo Sports basketball program. Mel is certified in CPR and First Aid.

Tom SienkiewiczSouthern RI Regional Director Head Coach PCD Boys Varsity Basketball Team, former Assistant Basketball Coach at Brown University, former Head Basketball Coach at Roger Williams University. Villanova Basketball Hall of Famer.

Jamienata Lamin: Instructor for One on One Basketball. Jamienata played 10 years of basketball with CYO, Cranston East HS, and AAU winning two championships. St. Philip’s coach she led the D2 girls’ to an undefeated season, winning the State Championship. Head coach UCAP Girl’s MS team.

Evan Lancia: One on One Basketball Coach, Graduate of Rhode Island College.  Current Cranston West School English teacher.  Former JV and Varsity coach at Providence Country Day School (2014 Division Champions) and Cranston West HS.  Coached AAU for the RI Renegades and actively plays in men’s basketball leagues
 
Renee Miller: One on One Basketball Coach.  Assist. Coach Girls Varsity at BayView.  Played four years varsity basketball at John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science in Boston, and also played two years semi-pro basketball.

Mary Belisle:  Coach Mary is a Physical Education and Health teacher. She has been teaching in Burrillville for over 25 years. Mary played basketball for Burrillville High School, and coached the Burrillville Girls Middle School team for 7 years. 

Jerry Rubino:  Elementary Health and PE teacher in North Providence for 25 yrs. Girls Basketball coach at North Providence High since 2010. Assistant Girls Basketball coach at NPH 1999-2009. Boys Basketball coach at Greystone School in North Providence for 12 years. NPYBA Coach 2004-to present. Jerry is Certified in First Aid and CPR, AED

 

 

 

 

Congratulations to Providence One on One Basketball

Congratulations to Frank Luca, Regional Director of One on One Basketball in Providence, who was recently recognized by the Providence After School Alliance (PASA) with the 2014 PASA Provider Excellence Award.  The award is “In honor of dedication and passion to high quality youth programs.”  Frank also received two Certificates of Congressional Recognition from United States Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse.
